2023-21 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF VERMILION, OHIO TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY WITH THE TOWNSHIP OF BROWNHELM, LORAIN COUNTY, OHIO TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION FOR THE PERJOD OF JULY 1, 2023, THROUGH JUNE 30, 2024.
WHEREAS, the present contract now in existence expires June 30, 2023.NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY the Council of the City of Vermilion, State of Ohio:
SECTION 1: That the Mayor of the City of Vem1ilion, Ohio be and hereby is authorized and directed to enter into a contract on behalf of the City with the Township of Brownhelm, Lorain County, Ohio to provide said Township with fire protection service including those areas as defined in Exhibit A. The services so rendered shall consist of furnishing the equipment and personnel necessary to provide adequate fire protection in the Township.
SECTION 2: That said contract (attached hereto as Exhibit B) shall become effective July 1, 2023, and will terminate June 30, 2024. The service to be rendered by the City of Vermilion to residents of the Township of Brownhelm and its safety services are to be of an emergency nature only. Said Township will pay to the City of Vem1ilion the sum of Forty Five Thousand, Twenty-Four Dollars and Twelve Cents ($45,024.12) for the term of July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024 both dates inclusive.
SECTION 3: This Council finds and detc.1mines that all fom1al actions of this Council concerning and relating to the adoption of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 4: That this ordinance shall go into full force and shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, providing that it meds the statutory requirements for passage; otherwise, it shall take effect and be enforced from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
