2023-47 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF VERMILION, OHIO TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN AUDITOR OF STATE KEITH FABER (AUDITOR), CITY OF VERMILION, AND CHARLES E. HARRIS & ASSOCIATIES, INC. FOR INDEPENDENT PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT SERVICES FOR THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 1, 2023 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2024, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, this City authorizes this Agreement for independent public accountant services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Vermilion, Counties of Erie and Lorain, State of Ohio:
SECTION 1: That the Mayor of the City of Vermilion, Ohio is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement between Auditor of State Keith Faber (Auditor), City of Vermilion, Erie, and Lorain Counties (Public Office), and Charles E. Harris & Associates, Inc. for independent public accountant services.
SECTION 2: That the Director of Finance shall cause payment for the fixed fee for all services performed as follows:
2023 $30,030
2024 $30,810
SECTION 3: This Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were taken in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any committees that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public and in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 4 : That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency for the public peace, health, and safety of the city, and the necessity to cause payment for the services performed. Wherefore, this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval of the mayor, providing it meets the statutory requirements for passage; otherwise, it shall take effect and be enforced from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
