A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 2025 TAX BUDGET ADOPTED PER RESOLUTION 2024R-7 ON MAY 6, 2024, AND CERTIFYING IT TO THE COUNTY BUDGET COMMISSION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, that the 2025 budget projection demonstrates the need for taxes that are assessed, and
WHEREAS, that this tax budget does not grant spending authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERMILION, COUNTY OF ERIE AND STATE OF OHIO:
SECTION 1: That the 2025 Tax Budget was adopted per Resolution 2024R-7 on May 6, 2024.
SECTION 2: That the amended 2025 Tax Budget is hereby attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A.
SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is hereby directed to forward a copy of this amended resolution to the County Budget Commission.
SECTION 4: That it is found and determined that all formal actions of the Council of the City of Vermilion concerning and relating to the adoption of this Resolution were taken in an open meeting of the Council of the City of Vermilion and that all deliberations of this City’s Council and any of its committees that resulted in those formal actions were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
SECTION 5: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, the emergency being the necessity of presenting the amendment in the timeframe given to the city by the Erie County Auditor’s Office, thus for the public peace, health, and safety of the City; wherefore, this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval of the Mayor, providing it meets the statutory requirements for passage; otherwise, it shall take effect and be enforced from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
